Speaking on GMTV this morning, the music legend told Fiona Phillips that he has endured five decades of public speculation about his life.
He said: "I've given up even thinking about justifying myself, qualifying what I am, who I am - I don't give a darn about it. You know what, the press don't frighten me anymore. I don't even lose sleep."
Sir Cliff added: "I've got a tour coming up and I don't care if they talk about the things that I do, they can speculate all that they want. It makes no difference to me at all."
Last week, the pop singer spoke out about his priest "companion", with whom he has lived for seven years.
