Bedingfield announces her engagement

Natasha Bedingfield has become engaged to California businessman Matt Robinson.

The singer announced that she had accepted his proposal to guests at a surprise performance at a New York City nightclub.

"It just happened," she told People. "But I am so excited, and it happened in New York. And I want to share it with the world."

The 26-year-old has been dating Robinson for two years."We haven't thought about a date. We're just celebrating," she said.

"I'm the luckiest girl in the world."
