Tess Daly calls Kay a "big girl"

Vernon Kay has been named "Lydia" by his wife because he acts like a "girl".

Tess Daly adopted the name for her husband after he learned songs and dances from musicals to entertain their three-year-old daughter Phoebe.

Kay, 34, told Closer: "Tess caught me singing along to Calamity Jane the other day, she thinks I'm a bit gay.

"I know all the songs from High School Musical and Mary Poppins, including the dance routine to 'It's A Jolly Holiday'. I love all that stuff."

He added: "My mum always said that if I'd have been born a girl, she would have called me Lydia - so now Tess always calls me that when she thinks I'm acting too much like a girl. But I don't let that stop me."

Kay said his wife is not pregnant but revealed that the couple would like to have another child.
