'Ghost Town' Gervais: I'm a sceptic

Ricky Gervais has revealed that he does not believe in ghosts, but admitted that he does like a spooky story.

The Office star made the comments while promoting new movie Ghost Town, in which he plays a misanthropic dentist who finds that he has the ability to communicate with spirits.

Speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival, Gervais stated that while he is a sceptic, he is a fan of paranormal tales such as The Bishop's Wife and A Christmas Carol.

He told The Associated Press: "I'm a sceptic across the board of ghosts and elves and ESP and the afterlife, [but] Hollywood lets you take someone on board on a journey against their will really, if it's done well."
