Immigration officials are considering whether to let the hip-hop star into the country after he was banned last year due to gun and drug charges he faced in America.
Crowe allegedly wrote in a letter to the Australian government: "I submit to you that Snoop Dogg poses no threat to Australia or to any individual in this country.
"He has toured here three times before without incident and there are no reasons to assume this tour will be anything but the positive experience the last three have been.
"Snoop has built a stellar reputation with promoters and audiences worldwide."
The rapper has also been the subject of a visa debate in the UK because of his 2006 arrest at Heathrow Airport following an altercation with security staff.
