Kiefer picks up 'bargain home'

Kiefer Sutherland has found a new home on the New York property market, snapping it up for millions below the asking price.

The 24 actor paid $8.2 million (£4.58m) for the five-story 19th century West Village townhouse, which was put up for sale at $12.99 million ($7.26m) in January.

Real estate listings show that the 4,750 square feet property is unrenovated but has plans for five bedrooms, as well as an elevator, open living and entertaining spaces.

Celebrities also living in the West Village include Sarah Jessica Parker, Gisele Bundchen and Liv Tyler.
