The Jolie-Pitt Foundation paid more than $1.1 million (£614,000) to the Global Health Committee in order to set up the clinic, which will provide help for tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS-affected children.
Pitt remarked that the couple would like three-year-old daughter Zahara, who they adopted from Ethiopia, to take charge of the centre when she grows up.
"It is our hope when Zahara is older, she will take responsibility of the clinic and continue its mission," he said.
