Vernon Kay laughs off death claims

Vernon Kay has responded to internet rumours that he drowned while holidaying in Greece.

Kay's page on online encyclopedia Wikipedia was recently altered to state that the radio and TV host died while vacationing with his wife and daughter in Greece and would be laid to rest in Bolton this Friday.

The entry read: "Vernon Kay sadly passed away after falling off a yacht on holiday in Greece on September 12, 2008.

"He was waving to photographers and slipped and fell off the edge of the yacht and was knocked unconscious."

However, the Family Fortunes presenter laughed off the fabricated entry, telling The Sun: "I am alive and kicking. A few friends rang to check that I was all right... I wish I was on a yacht in Greece."
