Ledger's bar to open this week

The bar bought by late actor Heath Ledger before his death is to open this week.

Five Leaves, named after Nick Drake album Five Leaves Left, was a 50-50 venture by Ledger and business partner Jud Mongell.

Mongell revealed that the Dark Knight star planned to be involved in the running of the establishment, which features granite bar tables and has a nautical theme, before he passed away in January.

"He was fingerprinted for a liquor licence… he was going to DJ, bartend; he was not like some removed investor. At one point he put a bid in on the whole building. He was going to live upstairs," Mongell said.
