A source told In Touch Weekly that Refaeli, 23, was seen partying in Las Vegas and "kept saying she needed to meet a hot guy".
The insider added: "She was on the prowl."
DiCaprio, 33, was spotted the night before at a party in New York, which he referred to as "a great boys' night out".
The on-off couple began dating in early 2006 and have not been seen together since July.
DiCaprio is reported to have become a fixture on the nightclub scene in recent weeks.
