Kate Middleton swapped her usually classy attire for a luminous 1980s outfit to host a charity roller disco last night.

Prince William's girlfriend appeared at the South London skating hall wearing bright yellow hotpants, a green sequined halter-neck top and bright pink leg warmers.

The Day-Glo Midnight Disco was held to raise £100,000 for Tom's Ward at the Children's Hospital in Oxford and the Place2Be organisation, which provides counselling to youngsters.

The event was in memory of Middleton's friend Thomas Waley-Cohen, who died of bone cancer in 2004 at the age of 20.
