Obama rejects Lohan campaign help

Barack Obama has reportedly rejected an offer from Lindsay Lohan to help his presidential campaign.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a source working for the Democratic candidate's election campaign said: "[She] is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us."

Bill Zwecker, a columnist for the newspaper, added: "I've learned the campaign quietly told the actress 'thanks, but no thanks', but in far more diplomatic terms."

The snub comes just days after Lohan launched a scathing attack on Republican vice-presidential hopeful Sarah Palin in a blog post.

"I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States only four years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor, which is probably all she is qualified to be," she wrote.
