Bette Davis features on new US stamp

Bette Davis in 'Madame Sin', Rex Features

Hollywood star Bette Davis is featured on a new postage stamp brought out to commemorate the 100th anniversary of her birth.

A portrait of the iconic actress in 1950 film All About Eve has been used as the image.

Her son Michael Merrill told The Associated Press that she would have been "tremendously thrilled" by the honour.

Davis, who died in 1989 at the age of 81, appeared in a host of films including Now Voyager, The Letter and Dark Victory.

She won two best actress Oscars for Dangerous in 1936 and Jezebel in 1939.
