Bleakley shocked by 'One Show' fan mail

Christine Bleakley has claimed that One Show viewers are desperate for her to start a relationship with her co-host Adrian Chiles.

The presenters set tongues wagging in July when they met up for a meal together at a West London flat after finishing work on the BBC programme.

Bleakley told The Mirror: "We got piles of letters and cards from viewers saying, 'It's so nice if you and Adrian are an item because he always makes you laugh'. And he got letters saying, 'I think she'll be good for you'. We were shocked by that more than anything else."

Christine later poured cold water on the hopes of their fans by dismissing rumours of a romance as "nonsense".

"We think it's the Torvill and Dean factor - people see us on telly together and really want us to be involved off screen too," she continued. "But sorry folks, it's not going to happen."

Bleakley is currently training for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, which launches on BBC One tonight.
