Naomi Campbell: 'Surgery saved my life'

Naomi Campbell has revealed that she believes a recent operation on her fallopian tubes saved her life.

Doctors in Brazil removed two cysts in February and the supermodel insisted that her life would have been under threat if the surgery had not been performed.

She said that she felt pain throughout 2007 and was eventually persuaded to see a doctor in Brazil after collapsing.

"The Brazilian doctors took their tests and said, 'We've got to open you up, you've got two benign tumours, 9cm each'. One had leaked and caused an infection," she said.

"Had I stayed with them in there for a further three months, they said I would have been in danger of my life."

Earlier this week, it was rumoured that Campbell's billionaire boyfriend Vladislav Doronin is planning to propose.
