Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker is expected to make a full recovery after surviving a plane crash which killed four people.

Barker suffered second and third degree burns when the Learjet in which he was travelling came down just moments after taking off from Columbia, South Carolina shortly before midnight on Friday.

He and Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, managed to escape the burning wreckage.

Two other passengers, named as Barker's assistant Chris Baker, 29, and security guard Charles Still, 25, were killed. Pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, and co-pilot James Bland, 52, have also been pronounced dead.

Music producer Dupri visited Barker in hospital in Augusta, Georgia, and said he was 'doing well'.

"It's a seriously sad situation. He's doing good... but I really hate to see my friends go through this," he told Us Magazine.

Rapper The Game told All HipHop.com: "I am deeply hurt by this tragedy. Travis Barker has always been there for me when I needed him creatively. We've done many songs together.

"Just recently he appeared in my video 'Dope Boyz' that he featured on. I respect and love him, my prayers are with him and his family in this difficult time for his speedy and complete recovery."

Doctor Fred Mullins said both are expected to make a full recovery. "Anybody who can survive a plane crash is pretty lucky," he said, adding that their injuries could take up to a year to heal.
