Blaine: 'My head feels like it will explode'

Rex Features

David Blaine has described the physical effects of his latest challenge from his upside-down position over Manhattan's Central Park.

The magician intends to remain hanging bat-like without a net until Wednesday in his 60-hour endurance test.

Doctors have warned that the stunt could cause internal damage and cost Blaine his sight.

Speaking from his inverted position, Blaine said he was "doing all right" but that he had experienced an enormous push of blood which made his head feel like it was "about to explode".

"The legs go pin and needle very fast," the 35-year-old went on to say.

Blaine said he would use "sheer willpower" to complete the challenge, which was partly inspired by his hero Harry Houdini.
