Spears selling home for £4.2 million

Britney Spears's California home is on the market with a £4.2 million price tag.

The singer is said to be relocating so that she has "more privacy" to raise sons Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two.

Spears, 26, has lived in the six-bedroom mansion for less than two years, having been forced out on two occasions after being hospitalised.

The star's dad Jamie is co-conservator of his daughter's estate and sought permission to sell the hilltop home from a court in June.

He said Spears wanted somewhere quieter, more private and with better access to "parks and recreation areas" for her children.

The house boasts six bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, three garages, a library, media room and a maid's quarters. It is described as an "exquisite gated Italian Renaissance-inspired villa" with three garages and a "grand entrance foyer".

"Having more privacy and wide open spaces for her to raise her boys has been a goal for some time," a source close to Spears told People.
