Nadine Coyle struck down by shingles

Nadine Coyle has contracted the shingles virus, her bandmate Nicola Roberts has revealed.

The singer was due to be interviewed by Radio 1 host Jo Whiley along with the rest of Girls Aloud.

However, Metro reports that the 23-year-old had to miss the promotional event as she is recovering in bed.

Roberts said: "Nadine's not very well at the minute and she's got a horrible bug, she's got shingles. So we all wish her well."

The interview was lined up to promote the group's new single 'The Promise'.
