Shia LaBeouf will not face drink-driving charges in connection with a collision in Hollywood which left him injured.

The Los Angeles District Attorney's office cited "insufficient evidence" for the decision not to take action against the Indiana Jones star.

She added that prosecutors are considering charges against two other people involved in the July crash.

However, LaBeouf's licence could still be suspended because he refused a breathalyser test at the time, sheriff's officials said.

Police initially arrested the actor on suspicion of driving under the influence, but it was later confirmed that the collision was caused when another vehicle failed to stop at a red light.

"We're very happy with the prosecutor's decision, and we're glad this whole thing resolved without Shia having to go to court," LaBeouf's attorney Michael Norris told People.

The 22-year-old underwent surgery after being hurt in the incident, with his hand injury written into the script of his forthcoming film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
