Osbourne wrestles mugger to the ground

Jack Osbourne has been hailed a hero after foiling a mugger's attempt to steal a woman's handbag.

The Adrenaline Junkie star chased the man, pinned him to the ground and then held him in an arm lock, according to The News of the World.

Osbourne, 22, then held the mugger with fellow passer-bys until police arrived, having made a citizen's arrest. The incident took place at the weekend on Marylebone High Street in central London.

He said: "I could see the girl was in trouble, it just felt like the natural thing to do. I’m glad it turned out okay."

A source said: "He was amazing. He ran after the mugger like a man possessed, a real hero. It happened so quickly. But Jack spotted it, easily beat him in the race over 20 metres and pushed him to the ground. Whatever technique he used meant the robber couldn’t escape.

"The girl was very grateful, but Jack was very modest."
