Fiancé 'buried' Hudson's proposal

Jennifer Hudson has revealed that she had to dig in the sand while blindfolded as part of an elaborate marriage proposal.

The Sex And The City actress agreed to marry David Otunga while celebrating her 27th birthday earlier this month.

Speaking on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Hudson explained: "I had no clue at all. We went to the beach during the day and he blindfolded me and he gave me a purple shovel, because purple's my favourite colour, and I had to dig.

"I ended up digging through all this sand. When I found it, it was like a bunch of beautiful cards, one related to the other, and the last one said 'Look around, take the moment in, turn around and I have a gift for you'."

The singer and actress shot to fame after making the finals in US TV series American Idol, while Otunga starred in reality show I Love New York 2.
