Cheryl planned family before Ashley affair

Cheryl Cole has revealed that she wanted to start a family before discovering that her husband had cheated on her.

In Girls Aloud's new autobiography Dreams That Glitter, Cole admitted that she and Ashley were planning to have a child before their marriage was rocked by infidelity claims.

"I was really broody, to the point where I'd see children and think that's me, I'm ready," she wrote. "It was all I was thinking about. All that was going through my head and I was thinking, do I start trying for a family after the tour and fit in around Girls Aloud?"

The X Factor judge confessed that starting a family is now "becoming a priority".

"These days there's no reason why you can't have a family and a career," she explained. "I'm from a big family and I want a big family and that means I have to make a start soon - so watch this space."
