Alan Davies admits drug use

Alan Davies has admitted that he used drugs when he was younger.

The QI funnyman confessed that he smoked marijuana and took Ecstasy - although never regularly.

"I used to like a puff on the weed, ... I enjoyed E, but I only ever tried it a few times," he told Observer Magazine.

However, the comedian commented that he is "anti-Class A" drugs after seeing the effect it has had on colleagues.

"There were two or three really funny comedians who messed themselves up by getting a coke habit," Davies said.

"One of my great comedy heroes - John Belushi - died after chronic cocaine abuse, so I'm a bit anti-Class A."
