Grieving Paltrow refused to cut hair

Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she refused to have her hair cut in the aftermath of her father's death.

Bruce Paltrow died six years ago and the actress said she did not want to trim her locks "because it was the hair he knew".

However, she finally had a haircut this summer, claiming that it was part of the grieving process.

"I love changing my look but I kept my hair long for so long because when my dad died I didn't want to cut it off... Then one day I was on a shoot and I just suddenly said, 'I need to cut it now'... I just had to let something go," she said.

Paltrow recently praised Madonna for helping her beat the baby blues after the birth of her son Moses.

"She kind of made me see that my postnatal depression was an opportunity for me to change certain things about the way I was living and the way I was going forward," she said.
