The Dirty Harry star claimed that if he ever decides to become more involved in politics, he will do so by running for President.
The 78-year-old, who recently revealed that he is struggling to retire from acting, told People that he was approached by McCain at a Republican gathering.
"I was at a function, and a bunch of political types were there. And John McCain was there. He came up to say hello. I said, 'Look, don't even ask it. I will not be your vice president. I have to be on the top of the ticket'," he said.
Eastwood added that he believes the job is the "least appealing" in politics.
