Rourke cut himself for 'Wrestler' role

Mickey Rourke slashed his forehead with a razor blade for his role in The Wrestler, reports the New York Daily News.

The actor had heard that real-life athletes sometimes fake injury in the ring by cutting themselves with razor blades.

"So Mickey taped a blade to his forearm, and when the time was right sliced his forehead," revealed fellow cast member Wass Stevens.

The Sin City star recently revealed that director Darren Aronofsky had some harsh words for him when he was cast in The Wrestler.
