The star announced last week that she is dying of cancer, adding that she planned to marry her lover of 13 years before her death.
"We were going to get married anyway, but when we got the diagnosis we decided to push ahead and get married now. There was no rush before," she said.
EastEnders stars Todd Carty, Natalie Cassidy and Laila Morse attended the ceremony, along with around 60 of Richard's family and friends. Carty, who played her son Mark in the soap, commented: "It was a wonderful day, a wonderful day for Wendy and John."
Photographs from the service, which was held in a Mayfair hotel, will be published exclusively in OK! magazine.
