Jack Ryder takes on Romeo role

Jack Ryder is to play Romeo in the Wales Theatre Company production of Romeo And Juliet.

The actor, who split from wife Kym Marsh earlier this year, will act opposite Sara Lloyd-Gregory in the play.

He admitted that was surprised to be offered the part, saying: "I've never done Shakespeare before so why they asked me I don't know."

Ryder added that he is particularly enjoying working on the play's fight scenes.

"We have been working with one of the greatest fight directors in the business," WalesOnline quotes him as saying.

"I have my main fight with Richard Munday, who's such a nice guy. We've been having great fun."
