Tim Robbins receives Hollywood star

Tim Robbins has been immortalised with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

The 49-year-old, who starred in The Shawshank Redemption, was awarded the honour at a ceremony on Friday.

The 2,371 stone plaque was placed next to that of partner Susan Sarandon.

Speaking at the event, Robbins remarked that he used to walk past the spot on his way to work before he was famous.

"I used to take the bus from here to Burbank to go to work. When the bus was late, I would walk up and down and throw my cigarettes down," he said.

"Now I have the honour of having this done to my star."
