Jessica Simpson denies engagement rumours

Jessica Simpson has quashed reports that she and American football star Tony Romo are engaged.

The singer told Entertainment Tonight that the couple did not make a joint visit to the jewellery section of store Neiman Marcus, as had been reported.

"I couldn't drag Tony to Neiman Marcus if I tried," she said, adding that they are not engaged but are very happy.

Simpson was previously married to Nick Lachey. She was later linked to John Mayer, Dane Cook and Maroon 5's Adam Levine before meeting Romo.

She recently described the Dallas Cowboys player as the "love of her life".
