Grohl to have street named after him

An alley in Dave Grohl's hometown is to be renamed in his honour, reports NME.

The Foo Fighters's frontman is having the street named after him following a campaign by residents of Warren, Ohio.

Market Alley will now be known as Dave Grohl Alley in recognition of the former Nirvana drummer.

The push, apparently led by a local radio DJ and a police sergeant, was given the full backing of the local council.

The town's musical hero was saved from a stage invader in Texas last month when a security guard blocked the attack.
