Babyshambles guitarist Whitnall arrested

Mick Whitnall has been arrested in connection with alleged drugs offences, reports NME.

The Babyshambles guitarist was taken into police custody yesterday at about 4pm. The offence is alleged to have taken place in the Blackheath area of London.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 39-year-old was arrested in a cafe bar on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs, thought to be crack cocaine.

It is understood that officers searched the musician's home following his arrest.
