Pistol stilettos worn by Madonna at the New York premiere of Filth And Wisdom have been criticised by a group of mothers who have lost their children to gun crime.

The 50-year-old singer was branded "uncaring" by a spokesperson for Mothers Against Murder And Aggression (MAMAA).

The Chanel shoes that Madonna stepped out in have a piece of metal in the shape of a gun in place of a normal heel.

MAMAA's Lynn Costello told Metro: "We need the whole of society to take responsibility and action in stopping the glamorisation of weapons. Celebrities have a massive part to play and an icon like Madonna should have more sense. It's uncaring. Surely she reads the news and realises that young people are dying every day."
