Martin: 'I romanced Bond producer'

Celebrity chef James Martin has said that he was involved in a four-year relationship with James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli.

The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant told Metro that the revelations in his autobiography Driven would likely upset the producer.

"I probably have upset her but it was part of my life," he said. "It lasted for four years and I didn't want to miss it out. It's not a sensationalist account of the relationship."

Martin also admitted that an altercation with a chef early in his career left him with broken bones.

He explained: "I've worked in restaurants where the chefs have been nuts. When I was 17 in my first job in London, a chef broke two of my ribs and my collarbone because I'd split a custard. It was about £2.50-worth of ingredients but he went for me. He got sacked and the restaurant went bust."
