Mel B insists she will not get bodyguards

Mel B has said that she will not be hiring extra security after she and her husband were allegedly threatened at a London airport.

The former Spice Girl told The Daily Star that she always travels with her husband Stephen Belafonte, who makes her "feel safe".

"I still don’t know what was going through that man’s head at the airport yesterday. I was half asleep and I looked up and it was all going on. But my husband’s quick reaction made sure we were safe," she added.

The 33-year-old said having a security team would only "draw more attention", adding: "In my mind I believe that what happened at the airport doesn’t happen often."

Police confirmed that a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of threatening behaviour. He was later released on bail to appear in court in December.
