Madonna continues tour despite split

Madonna continued with her 'Sticky & Sweet' tour in Boston last night just hours after confirming her split from husband Guy Ritchie.

Her spokesperson Liz Rosenberg confirmed yesterday evening that her relationship with Ritchie is over, but the latest date on the popstar's world jaunt went ahead as scheduled.

The singer didn't mention her divorce during the gig at TD Banknorth Garden, and according to the Boston Globe there was "no catch in her voice when she sang the heartbreaking ballad 'You Must Love Me'".

Before she sang 'Miles Away', which Madonna previously claimed was inspired by Ritchie, she told the audience: "This song is for the emotionally retarded. Maybe you know some people who fall into that category. I know I do."

The review of the show was generally positive, with the critic commenting: "Madonna, ever fabulous, reminds us that we really should spend another hour at the gym tomorrow morning."
