Beckham blasts 'out of hand' WAGs

David Beckham has become the latest footballer to criticise the England football team's WAG era.

The midfielder, who is married to popstar Victoria Beckham, has joined Rio Ferdinand in hitting out at the wives and girlfriends of England stars.

Speaking to GMTV, Beckham said that football should take priority over celebrity: "WAGs got out of hand. It should always be about the football."

He added: "There's always going to be criticism of footballers - they're very high-profile and paid a lot of money. But the players I've played with in an England shirt and at the clubs I've been at, all they care about is winning and being successful."
