Perry crawls off stage after cake catastrophe

Katy Perry was forced to crawl off stage at the 15th MTV Latin American Awards last night after she failed to foresee the repercussions of leaping onto the show's giant anniversary cake.

The singer had just performed 'I Kissed A Girl' and brought the rendition to an end by launching herself onto the massive four-tier pink dessert.

Perry, 23, went on to peel the cake from her body and hurl it at her guitarist and the audience gathered in Guadalajara, Mexico.

However, the American star ended up flat on her face when the melting icing sugar turned the stage into a perilous platform.

Perry, who is hosting next month's MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool, was unable to regain her footing and was forced to make her exit on hands and knees.
