Kay 'hangs up' on radio interview

Peter Kay appeared to hang up during a live radio telephone interview on Friday.

The comedian appeared on a BBC Radio Five Live show presented by Victoria Derbyshire and being listened to by millions.

35-year-old Kay is reportedly secretive when it comes to his private life, and seemed to hang up the call when Derbyshire asked about his family.

"So your normal life in Bolton - your wife, your children, your mum - you don't do the celebrity circuit thing. Is it as normal as it can be just living there?" the presenter asked.

However, a spokesperson for Kay, who scored a ratings hit with Britain's Got The Pop Factor..., commented: "Peter was cut off during the conversation - he did not hang up."
