Fonda celebrates 70th with deep sea dive

Jane Fonda went deep sea diving in the Turk and Caicos Islands to celebrate her 70th birthday.

The movie star went more than 25 metres down into the water and got through the experience by "taking it slowly".

"I went very slowly," she told More magazine. "It's a major life lesson. It's true with mountain climbing, scuba diving and love-making - taking it slowly."

She added that an experience in which she failed to conquer an Argentinean volcano almost put her off the dive, but advice from her 76-year-old boyfriend Lynden Gillis helped her through it.
