Second religion blamed for Madonna split

Madonna's marriage hit crisis point after she started to follow a second religion, it has been claimed.

The Mirror reports that the popstar became 'obsessed' with Hindu mysticism at the beginning of the year, after previously encouraging Guy Ritchie to embrace Kabbalah.

"He didn't talk about it but it must have been confusing for Guy," a source told the newspaper. "Every weekend was dominated by Kabbalah. They couldn't even go to his country place Ashcombe for the weekend until Sunday morning after Kabbalah.

"Then Madonna suddenly develops another interest - and Guy is supposed to make sense of it and keep up."

Another insider added: "She got interested in Hinduism about a decade ago. She sort of left it behind when she got into Kabbalah but her interest was re-awakened as she went further into yoga."

The pair confirmed that their marriage was over after more than seven years last week.
