Enrique Iglesias has praised the "highly skilled" pilots who performed an emergency landing when the plane he was on experienced engine trouble on an Atlantic crossing.

The 'Hero' singer was flying from the US when the private plane ran into problems, reports The Press Association.

Pilots were forced to shut down one of the jet's engines and made an emergency landing at Luton airport.

"The highly skilled pilots managed to make a safe landing and nobody was hurt," Iglesias's London agent said.

Iglesias, who is currently on a European tour, is among a host of singers who have signed up to appear in ITV's Here Come The Boys, a one-off show designed to raise awareness of testicular cancer charities.
