Kids' TV star admits to drugs past

Children's TV presenter Richard McCourt has admitted that he gave up taking drugs on the advice of his doctor.

McCourt, one half of double act Dick and Dom, was filmed on a night out talking about his drug-taking past.

In the video, which appeared on The Sun's website, McCourt was asked if he had white powder on his nose.

"No... I do not take drugs. You know why? I've got a heart problem," he said.

McCourt then admitted that he had experimented with drugs, saying: "When I was young. I am not allowed to do drugs anymore. My doctor said to me, 'Don't take drugs again or you will die.'"

Vivienne Clore, a spokesperson for McCourt, confirmed that the presenter had taken drugs, but "not for over ten years because his doctor told him not to".
