Slurring Katona causes viewer concern

Kerry Katona has caused concern from viewers after she slurred her words during an interview on This Morning.

The reality TV star's appearance prompted a flurry of phone calls to ITV about her unusual behaviour.

Hosts Phillip Schofield and Fern Britton quizzed Katona about her current health, but she insisted that the slurred speech was caused by prescription drugs rather than alcohol.

"You don't seem right to me, you've got the body sorted but your speech is a bit slurred. How are you feeling?" said Schofield.

Katona, who appeared shocked, replied: "Is it? That's because I'm on medication at night-time. I had some last night."

When Britton alluded to comments she made in a recent interview about getting drunk on holiday, she replied: "I don't understand what you're trying to say?"

Britton asked: "Have you got rid of one addiction by replacing it with another? Is it alcohol?"

The I'm A Celebrity... winner answered: "No, not at all. I'm on holiday in Spain and I'm allowed to have a drink, aren't I?"
