Not many people would ever associate dashing Hollywood hunk Zac Efron with rotund comic James Corden. Efron's chiseled jawline and floppy hair will be packing teens into theatres for the latest High School Musical offering this month, while Corden is busy working on a movie project called Lesbian Vampire Killers. How could the two possibly be connected? DS will show you in five simple steps...

Zac Efron to... John Travolta - Taking a break from practising his jazz hands dance routines and playing basketball as Troy Bolton, Efron found the time to shoot the 2007 remake of Hairspray. The 21-year-old played Link Larkin in the camp musical alongside Christopher Walken, James Marsden and a cross-dressing John Travolta.

John Travolta to... Isaac Hayes - Away from his successful movie career, Travolta is well known for his Scientology beliefs. The Saturday Night Fever actor isn't the only celebrity advocate for the religion with Tom Cruise, Kirstie Alley, Jason Lee and the late Isaac Hayes all supporters.

Isaac Hayes to... Elton John - The late soul singer recorded a number of classic albums, including Hot Buttered Soul and Shaft, but during his final years he became more famous for voicing the character of Chef in South Park. One of the other contributors to the Chef Aid: South Park album was none other than Elton John.

Elton John to... Lily Allen - Elton John has had plenty of celebrity spats during his 45-year career, and at this year's GQ Awards he showed that he wasn't too old to duke it out with his fellow stars, telling Lily Allen: "I could still snort you under the table." Not surprisingly, the pianist afterwards revealed that plans for a duet had been shelved.

Lily Allen to... James Corden - Since shooting to fame with her Alright, Still album, Miss Lily has had plenty of male admirers. Perhaps the most peculiar romantic attachment was with Gavin & Stacey's James Corden. The pair first began flirting during a segment on her much-derided BBC Three chatshow.
