Jeremy Piven has revealed that John Malkovich scared him into thinking he would not be prepared to handle his new Broadway role.
The Entourage star is appearing in Speed-The-Plow, a play by David Mamet about the US movie industry, which opened in New York last night.
However, Piven received a shock when he spoke to fellow actor Malkovich. "I'm talking to John Malkovich in Toronto. He's always been one of my major inspirations ... His work was so alive, so visceral," he told the New York Post.
"So I tell him I'm going to do this, and he asked: 'How long do you have to rehearse?' I said three weeks. He said: 'Not enough time.'"
He added: "John Malkovich put the fear of God into me."
