The Britain's Got Talent judge dismissed Brand as "just a sex-obsessed ex-junkie" and laid the blame at Ross's feet, saying the BBC's highest-paid presenter should have known better.
Morgan wrote in his Daily Mail column: "Can someone please explain to me why Jonathan Ross hasn't been fired yet by the BBC? If any other presenter at the Corporation had done what he did to poor Andrew Sachs, he or she would have been chopped so fast they wouldn't even feel the blade slicing through their clavicle.
"Russell Brand, his vile cohort in this quite appalling incident, is almost an irrelevance in this. He's just a sex-obsessed ex-junkie, a pre-Raphaelite version of Bernard Manning who will say literally anything to make a cheap tabloid headline, however lewd, crude or downright disgusting. I wouldn't expect anything else from him.
"But Jonathan Ross is different. He is the highest-paid star in BBC history, their flagship hero, a man given £18 million of taxpayers' money to amuse and entertain the nation on the airwaves."
