Posh 'inspired to run marathon by Holmes'

Victoria Beckham has reportedly decided to run the New York marathon.

The singer is said to have been inspired to take part in the 26-mile run by her friend Katie Holmes, who completed the course last year.

A source told Now: "It was meant to be a big secret. She's been training for months with the main goal of running in the New York marathon. But, if she doesn't feel ready, she's planning to do the one in Los Angeles in February next year."

Beckham is reportedly eager to run a marathon because she is planning to try for another baby.

"She wants to get the run out of the way because once she gets pregnant it'll be ages before she has the opportunity again," added the source.

The New York marathon, which covers all five boroughs of the city, takes place this Sunday.
