Springsteen cancels Halloween display

Bruce Springsteen has scrapped plans to hold a lavish Halloween party in his hometown of Rumson, New Jersey, citing its "catastrophic success" in previous years.

Springsteen said that the event, which had previously been held each Halloween at his home, had attracted too may visitors to the neighbourhood, causing "concerns for the safety of kids and parents".

Hosted by Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa, guests were invited to attend the highly decorated parties in masks.
